【摘要】:Thisclassificationisintendedtoencourageuniformityinreportingproperties;toprovideacommonlanguageforcommunicationsbetweenproducersandusers;toguideengineersanddesignersintheuse,construction,andpropertiesofcommerciallyavailablematerials;andtobeversatileenoughtocovernewmaterialsandtestmethodsastheyareintroduced.1.1Thisclassificationcoversameansforspecifyingordescribingpertinentpropertiesofcommerciallaminatecompositegasketmaterials(LCGM).Thesestructuresarecomposedoftwoormorechemicallydifferentlayersofmaterial.Thesematerialsmaybeorganicorinorganic,orcombinationswithvariousbindersorimpregnants.Gasketcoatingsarenotcoveredsincedetailsthereofareintendedtobegivenonengineeringdrawings,orasseparatespecifications.Commercialmaterialsdesignatedasenvelopedgasketsareexcludedfromthisclassification;theyarecoveredinPracticeF336.1.2Sinceallofthepropertiesthatcontributetogasketperformancearenotincluded,useofthisclassificationasabasisforselectingLCGMislimited.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
