【摘要】:Thistestmethodistheprocedureofchoicefordeterminingvolatilecontentofsheet-fedandcoldsetweboffsetinks.Thisinformationisusefultotheinkmanufactureranduserandtoenvironmentalinterestsaspartofthedeterminationofthemassofvolatileorganiccompoundsemittedfromtheink.Note38212;SincetheseinksdonotcontainwateroranymaterialscurrentlyclassifiedbyUSEPAasnegligiblyphotochemicallyreactive(exemptsolvents),volatileorganiccompoundcontentisthesameasvolatilecontent.Thevolatileorganiccompoundsintheseinksarehighboilinghydrocarbonoilswhichare,accordingtoUSEPAguidelines,95%retainedintheprintedsubstrateoroxidizedintotheinkfilm.Therefore,themassofvolatileorganiccompoundemittedfromtheinkwouldbecalculatedasonly5%ofthevolatileorganiccompoundcontentoftheinkasderivedfromtheresultsofthistestmethod.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesaprocedurefordeterminationoftheweightpercentvolatilecontentofsheet-fedandcoldsetweboffsetprintinginks.Testspecimensareheatedat110x00B0;x00B1;1x00B0;Cfor60min.Note18212;Coldsetweboffsetprintingisoften(also)referredtoasnon-heatsetweboffsetprinting.1.2Thistestmethodisalsoapplicabletosheet-fedandcoldsetweboffsetprintinginkvehicles.Note28212;Vehicleistheliquidportionoftheprintingink.Anysubstancethatisdissolvedintheliquidportionoftheinkisapartofthevehicle.1.3Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletoultra-violet(UV)orelectronbeamcuredmaterials,whichmustbecuredbyexposuretoUVlightoranelectronbeamaspartofthetestforvolatilecontent.1.4ThistestmethodisbasedonTestMethodD2369,inwhichtheallowablerangesarex00B1;0.1gforspecimenweightandx00B1;5x00B0;Cforoventemperature.Interlaboratorystudieshaveshownthatspecimenweightandoventemperaturemustbothbemoretightlycontrolledinordertoimprovetheprecisionoftestresultsforsheet-fedandcoldsetweb-offsetinks.Suchinkstypicallycontainawiderangeofhigh-boilinghydrocarbonsandoftenhaveavolatilecontentbelow25%.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Foraspecifichazardstatementsee7.5.1.
